English through Drama began as a pilot programme back in 2011 Summer with a group of young students (age between 6-12) from South Korea. The group came to Glasgow to join the 2 weeks intensive programme and created the outcome that exceeeded our expectation.
On one hand, it was a long journey for the young students, but on the other hand, it was an eye opening experience to these little adventurers.
The key to our programme is to implement the damatic skills to express and construct the ideas further into an physical outcome. Some might imagine it as an extended format of role playing workshops, however what our programme differs is to allow our students to be inspired by different creative contexts, to share their ideas, and to corporate which crucially involve listening, and negotiation skills.
Plus,we are aware of a structured feedback system and tailored sessions for each individual student, so the programme features a ESL specialists part to accelerate the student's linguistic progress.
We are very open and fully aware of the parents' concerns, so we invited a group of parents to our programme last year. And we are planning to continue this tradition and see some of the parents again during the programme.
Only restriction is that English is the only language allowed during the two weeks.
Currently, we are busy programming this year's Summer Camp, and it should be published by the end of January 2012.
Please come back again to check our programme.
